Learning Objective: Web lectures were created to educate medical students about dementia and delirium. The goal was to use streaming media to present diagnostic interviewing techniques and evaluate methods of certain medical conditions. After students' use of the streamed video and audio, they were asked to complete a self-assessment of their online learning benefits.

Pedagogical Considerations

Dr. Walaszek wanted to present interviews (i.e. streamed video) of patients who have been diagnosed with dementia and delirium. Such presentations enhance his student's ability to identify and understand symptoms associated with the diagnosis. In addition, the streamed audio is used to enhance online text materials presented to the students.
